Greetings and welcome to our blog site. I’m Ms. Patterson, but some students prefer to call me Ms. P.

I hail from Seattle, Washington, and spend my summers being outdoorsy with my husband and preschool-age son. My husband teaches Grade 7 Science and my son teaches me how to be patient and how to pretend. At age 3.5, this will be his first year at the “big school” and he is beyond excited.

This is the eighth year I get to call the Philippines my home and the fifth year I have been teaching Grade 4. Egypt was my home for three years before this and I taught Grades 2 and 3. Las Vegas was my home for two years before that and I worked with second-graders. I miss the desert heat, but I love the cool lightning and rainstorms here. I have traveled all over the Philippines, but especially love the rice terraces of Banaue, Batad and Sagada, as well as the northern tip of Luzon near Pagudpud.

I love animals and food, but I don’t eat meat. I love to read, but don’t do it often enough. Swimming, Pilates, Zumba and yoga are fun extracurricular activities for me so that I can keep up with my toddler. I ADORE nature and would be hiking, biking, learning how to paddle board or lounging by the river if I were a Lady of Leisure. Adoption and food are topics I am passionate about. And of course, TEACHING!

It’s going to be a phenomenal year!
